Why You'll Love This Recipe
There's nothing quite like a cold and refreshing milkshake in the summer. And when you add in some S'mores flavor, it takes things to a whole new level! It's like bringing the flavor of campsite S'mores with you all year round, even when it's too hot and you want something cold. Get the kids in on this recipe, too. Mine love helping in the kitchen.
Ingredients
Ice Cream: Any vanilla ice cream will work as long as it's thicker ice cream. However, I highly recommend Blue Bell Vanilla Bean. It's the perfect texture for the creamiest milkshakes and malts. Plus, the flavor stands above and beyond any other brand I've ever had.
Graham Crackers: If you've been a long-time follower of Chicken Fried Kitchen, you already know I'm a big advocate for off-brand ingredients. NOT IN THIS CASE!
There's a clear difference between Honeymaid and any brand alternatives. I think most of the other brands taste like cardboard. Bland, boring, and stale isn't going to cut it for this S'mores Malted Milkshake Recipe. So splurge and spend the extra dollar or two on the real deal.
Nutella: Yup! You read that right, and if you aren't already making s'mores with Nutella and still using chocolate, it's time for a change!
If you've never had Nutella before, it's a hazelnut and chocolate spread that is absolutely delicious. You can find it in most grocery stores near the peanut butter or the international aisle. I highly recommend getting some because it is great on toast and makes these S'mores Malted Milkshakes even more amazing.
Milk: I use whole milk. However, you can use any milk you'd like. It's only there to make the malted milkshake creamier.
Malted Milk Powder: Malted Milk Powder is made from malt powder with milk solids, giving these S'mores Malted Milkshakes a delicious malty flavor. You can find malt powder in most baking aisles or online.
