    About Me

Hey there! I'm Jeremy Klae, the recipe developer, writer, photographer, and videographer behind Chicken Fried Kitchen.

I have been a professional photographer for over two decades and have always had a passion for food.

Lifestyle portrait of Jeremy Klae from Chicken Fried Kitchen.
I believe that sharing food with friends and family is one of the most comforting things a person can do.

    A Little Bit About Me

I'm originally from Omaha, Nebraska, but have been calling the great state of Texas home since 2009. I'm a son, husband, and dad of two wonderful kids, and I'm a self-taught portrait photographer who loves to cook! Photography is what gave me the confidence to start this blog in the first place. I knew I loved to cook and how to make it look GOOD through my photos.

Growing up, I always knew my Mom and Grandma were wonderful cooks. They created some of my very favorite comfort foods, which are still a staple in my household! And, of course, there are still times that I call on my Mom for a little bit of recipe advice. I get my inspiration from the two of them, along with checking out fellow recipe creators, cooking videos, and my love for foods from all over the world.

And now, here we are. My passion is to create recipes that not only look and taste delicious but that brings a feeling of comfort to every person that I share them with.

What You'll Find on Chicken Fried Kitchen

While I would say in my heart, I'm a meat and potatoes guy through and through, I also want that heart to keep on tickin', so not all recipes that I make are fried, smoked, greased, or even high in calories - you'll find lots of healthy dishes in the mix using methods such as sous vide, pressure cooker, dutch oven, cast iron, grill, and many other traditional cooking methods.

Here, you will find step-by-step instructions with beautiful photos that will assist you along your way! I will share the cooking methods and any essential ingredients or tools that you will need to ensure success.

It's my goal to take everyone at every experience level along this culinary journey, trying new recipes and making all kinds of home-cooked meals, from the most simple comforting foods to beautiful gourmet meals.

I hope to help those who don't normally cook at home to do so by following along with my passion for cooking. Sharing delicious meals with those we love is one of the most rewarding things in this world!

    Fun Facts About Me

    • I started Chicken Fried Kitchen after being laid off during COVID-19, and I had no idea how quickly it would become my favorite job!
    • I owned a modeling agency when I lived in Nebraska and taught myself fashion photography because there were few fashion photographers in the area.
    • I have no fear of trying just about anything! In fact, my escargot recipe is one of my favorites (and I am so proud of my daughter for trying them, even though she said she "would never eat it again!"). My wife and I were also the first to say "yes" to trying seasoned grasshoppers at a neighborhood party.
    • My family and I moved from a busy city outside of Dallas to a small, quiet town in East Texas, and we love the slowed-down pace and beautiful pines surrounding our home.
