Mocha Caramel Latte Oreo Malted Milkshake

Jump to Recipe Jump to Video Print Recipe

The other day I was walking through the grocery store and saw a package of Mocha Caramel Latte Oreos and the first thing that came to mind was a Malted Milkshake recipe. I normally just call them malts and they've been a favorite of mine since I was a kid. My Mom and I used to ride our bikes to an ice cream shop in Lincoln, Nebraska called Goodrich. She loved banana splits while I always went for the chocolate malt. As I became older I ventured out into banana malts and even banana split malts. I'm trying to keep this Malted Milkshake tradition alive with my kids as well by making them at home. Thus, the Mocha Caramel Latte Oreo Malted Milkshake was born.

    What is Malted Milkshake?

A Malted Milkshake is very similar to a regular Milkshake in its ingredients. They both use milk, ice cream, and any other ingredients to create different flavors. The only difference is the addition of Malted Milk Powder. Which is why they're called Malts or Malted Milkshakes.

    How to make Malts

Malts and Milkshakes are one of the easiest desserts you could ever make. All you need are the ingredients, an ice cream scoop, and a good blender.

It's as easy as placing all of the ingredients into the blender and...well...blending it.

Ingredients for the Mocha Caramel Latte Oreo Malted Milkshake

Coffee flavored Blue Bell Ice cream with Mocha Caramel Latte flavored Oreos and a bottle of Carnation Malted Milk Powder displayed on a wooden table.

The main ingredients are those shown above. Coffee flavored Blue Bell Ice cream works perfectly in this recipe for obvious reasons. However, I need to expand on that a bit. Blue Bell Ice Cream is really the best store bought ice cream out there. Sure, that could be opinion. No, no it's not. I feel pretty positive that it's a proven fact.

Next, you've got the Mocha Caramel Latte flavored Oreos. Sure, on their own they're fantastic, but mix them with some coffee flavored ice cream and something very special happens.

Lastly, Malted Milk Powder and Milk bring it all together. If you prefer to just make this a Milkshake then omit the powder.

Simply place all the ingredients in a blender and blend until cookies are fully chopped and everything is well blended. Pour the malts into cups, top with some crushed Oreos, serve, and enjoy.

    In Conclusion

A great Malt or Milkshake is only limited by your own imagination and this one will quickly become one of your favorites. Don't be afraid to add some more caramel, chocolate fudge, or even top it with whipped cream for a more extravagant presentation. After all, it's a Mocha Caramel Latte Oreo Malted Milkshake, it can only get better from there!

If you love Oreos and Ice Cream as much as I do, I highly recommend trying this amazing and super easy recipe for Oreo Ice Cream Sandwich Cake.

Thank you so much for visiting Chicken Fried Kitchen and as usual....
