Ice Cream Sandwich Oreo Cake is a fantastic dessert that almost everyone will love. It's easy to make, perfect for summer get-togethers or just for the family to have around for a few days. Plus, it can be made as affordable as you want.
The first time I had this, my Mom made it a little differently, using some peanut butter and stuff. For my recipe, I wanted to stick with a traditional Oreo flavor.

Why You'll Love This Recipe
Look no further than this Ice Cream Sandwich Oreo Cake if you're looking for an effortless dessert this summer. You certainly won't be disappointed; it opens up a new world of creativity in the kitchen.
Ingredients
Ice Cream Sandwiches: If you want to make this as cost-effective as possible, I recommend buying the off-brand ice cream sandwiches.
If your goal is to make the cake as delicious as possible, I recommend grabbing the Blue Bell Ice cream sandwiches. The ice cream and cookie parts are much more flavorful, don't seem to melt as quickly, and even have a better overall color.
While the overall quality is a big difference, the price reflects that. So, that choice is up to you and your goal.
Oreos: I recommend using regular Oreos for this particular Ice Cream Sandwich Oreo Cake. With that being said, think of all of the possibilities here. You could easily pair Oreo flavors with ice cream flavors and completely change the overall dessert. The sky's the limit with this one.
One thing that I don't recommend is the off-brand Oreos. These are a massive part of the overall flavor, and I think this is where you spend the extra couple of dollars.
Cool Whip: Cool whip or off-brand frozen whipped topping will do fine here.
Hot Fudge: I like the Smucker's Hot Fudge topping you can get at your local grocery store. It is perfect for this recipe and fantastic over some Vanilla Bean Ice Cream with a Cast Iron Cookie.
See the recipe card below for full information on ingredients and quantities.
Step-by-Step Instructions
As I said, this is so easy that even the kids could make it. I recommend they do. Not only will they have fun in the process, but they'll love and be proud of the finished dish.
Step 1: Layer the bottom of a 9x13 casserole dish with half of the ice cream sandwiches.
Step 2: Mix half of the crushed Oreos with half of the whipped topping in a separate bowl and spread It over the Ice cream sandwiches.
Step 3: Add another layer of Ice Cream Sandwiches, then a layer of Cool Whip.
Step 4: Top that with the remaining crushed Oreos.
Lastly, cover the entire dish with plastic wrap and then foil. Freeze the ice cream sandwich Oreo cake for at least an hour, then serve topped with hot fudge, and enjoy!
