- 5 Apples - Gala or any other variety
- 1 Cup Dark Brown Sugar
- ½ Cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 Tbsp. Cinnamon
- ½ tsp. Nutmeg
- ¼ tsp. Cloves
- ¼ tsp. Kosher Salt
- 1 Tbsp. Vanilla Extract
- 1 Tbsp. Pure Maple Syrup
Peel, core, and slice the apples.
Place the apples in a cooking blender, place the lid on, and set it on puree.
Add the remaining ingredients and set the blender to puree again for about three minutes.
You can leave the blender on keep warm or pour the apple butter into a slow cooker or instant pot on high with the lid off to thicken.
- After blending this recipe, I place it all in a slow cooker on high. This allows it to thicken and become more of a traditional apple butter texture as opposed to apple sauce.
- Be sure that you are adding your apples to the blender in batches. It fills up pretty quickly.
- This apple butter can be refrigerated for up to four days.
