- 1 lb Shrimp - peeled, deveined, tail off
- ½ Cup Imitation Crab
- ½ Yellow Onion - chopped
- 1 Green Onion - sliced
- 1 Egg - beaten
- 1 ½ Tbsp. Fresh Parsley - chopped
- 1 tsp. Sesame Oil
- ½ tsp. Kosher Salt
- ¼ tsp. Black Pepper
- ½ tsp. Soy Sauce
- 1 tsp. Minced Garlic
- 2 Cups Oil for Frying
- 5 Slices Thick White Bread
Place the shrimp, imitation crab, yellow and green onions, garlic, egg, parsley, sesame oil, salt, pepper, and soy sauce in a food processor or blender and give it a few good pulses.
Set the mixture aside and begin cutting the crust off of the bread and then cut each slice diagonally making two triangles out of each slice.
Heat about 2 inches of cooking oil over medium-high heat in an Electric Deep Fryer Oven or large Cast Iron Skillet.
Once the oil is hot, spread one side of a triangle with the shrimp paste mixture and place that side down in the oil. Fry that side for about a minute or until golden brown. Flip and repeat on the back side using a slotted spoon or spatula.
Carefully remove the shrimp toast from the oil and place it on a cooling rack set above a baking sheet.
Serve your shrimp toast hot and drizzled with your favorite spicy sauce or with a dipping sauce on the side.
- Place the shrimp toast on a wired cooling rack! Don't place these on paper towels. There is too much oil, and you'll end up with super greasy shrimp toast that won't be very crispy.
- If you don't have a blender, you can use a hand-powered or electric food processor to make the shrimp paste.
