Ingredients

  • 5 Apples - Gala or any other variety
  • 1 Cup Dark Brown Sugar
  • ½ Cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. Cinnamon
  • ½ tsp. Nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp. Cloves
  • ¼ tsp. Kosher Salt
  • 1 Tbsp. Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Tbsp. Pure Maple Syrup

Instructions

  • Place the apples in a cooking blender, place the lid on, and set it on puree.
  • Add the remaining ingredients and set the blender to puree again for about three minutes.
  • You can leave the blender on keep warm or pour the apple butter into a slow cooker or instant pot on high with the lid off to thicken.

Notes

  • After blending this recipe, I place it all in a slow cooker on high. This allows it to thicken and become more of a traditional apple butter texture as opposed to apple sauce.
  • Be sure that you are adding your apples to the blender in batches. It fills up pretty quickly.
  • This apple butter can be refrigerated for up to four days.
